Grewia latifolia (Emu Berry or Dog's Balls) is highly drought tolerant and has a tasty berry contained within a hairy woody seed capsule. It grows to 2 metres and prefers morning sun. Emu Berry occurs in Queensland coastal ragions but is suitable for most soil types due to its drought tolerant nature. Saying that, Emu Berry performs best in soils that drain so mount it up if you're on clay soil. It is midly frost tolerant. Emu Berry bears fruit all year round which appear in pairs. It has also has pretty white flowers which attract a range of insects.
